The 1475 photos on this CD offer a view of the still-intact Berlin Wall from 1989 which was hitherto unavailable to a broader public. Only with the permission of the GDR border troops was Matthias Kupfernagel able to photograph the entire length of the border strip. This CD provides not only views of almost all the Wall areas around Berlin, it also offers highly detailed photographs of suburban and underground railway stations, canals, bodies of water, etc. Even today, 20 years after the fall of the Wall, the map included with each photo makes it possible to reconstruct the exact locations at that time. Thus, this photographic documentation offers what is probably the most comprehensive overview of the Berlin Wall in 1989.
